Great to see our regulars checking in! @longhorn cop, I think McLean should be in good shape. You're less than 50 miles north of me and my place is as overgrown and green as I've ever seen it. Big rains mean big antlers...

    @Killer, are you near Turkey?

I've met a bunch of fine people through TBH and this thread, but I never had the opportunity to meet Jody.
I enjoyed his contributions and send my condolences to his family.

We've kept the good fight going in our pastures this spring.
Wind and/or hogs did a number on my old camp feeder.

This setup needed to last a week as I was bringing the family up for spring break and I hoped someone would get a chance at a hog.
              It did not make it.
Hogs completely destroyed it and has since been replaced.

Coons destroyed my varmint cage, so a proper cage was constructed and replaced it.

A late freeze had the mechanism malfunction and dumped 1,500 lbs of corn.
I put that corn back in the feeder, which promptly molded, clumped and quit feeding.

The following month, I got to crawl inside that aflatoxin mess and scoop it out.

The setbacks were more than made up for with some quality campfire time with family.

Wife tired of looking at my pile of sheds and got all pinteresty.
My job was to simply hang it.
I bet it weights 200 lbs.

Put a new rimfire scope on the 9422 .22 mag.
It quickly became my preferred truck gun.

Pigs came into camp when the family was up and my boy made a great shot on a sow in front of his new girl friend.

The panhandle is set for a great year, I can't wait to see what everybody knocks down.
              Best of luck to all.

I go to the panhandle for a 2 day hunt every year but the cranes we shoot would be hard to hit with a bow.

Should be a good year. Had good moisture, last year like this was 2015 and it was a GOOD one!

Another 1" Thursday evening with a little more on Friday. Tanks are as full as I have seen them.
