My deer are loving the food plots, not sure if it’s the food plots or blind luck but my deer activity has gotten a lot more regular and seeing bucks I haven’t seen all summer until this last week.

I planted a wheat/seed oats mix here at the house last Sat.. It was up in 5 days and deer already on it.
Planted a smaller turnip patch and it's up too.

      Hope I'm not too early!

I finished mowing and spraying in OK today and have Harrison oats ready for it in maybe 10 days to two weeks.

Hope the hogs don't wear it out. We're eat up with them up there!

Interested to see how the buck forage work for you. I paid $21.50 per 50# for the Harrison.

A Florida based worldwide supplier of Lawn, Pasture and Turf Grass Seed at wholesale pricing direct to the public! Best prices on grass seed guaranteed!

Harrison’s apparently grow big and tall. Dr. Deer says that’s bad.

Seriously what he says and again I’m no fan boy of his. Just made sense that the deer like the tender new growth.

I looked up their website and not a lot of dealers for them. Tractor supply has a product called plotspike forage oats.

I think the closest dealer for buck forage oats here was one Plano and one in Tyler.

The buck forage site does say free shipping though.
Also noticed the plotspike has really good reviews.

MBS Seed in Denton has them.

I think I am going to pick some up tomorrow.

Maybe some free shipping via “Heath express”??

I’ve got another spot I could plow and plant to try them out.

Looking good Jeff I hope your target buck shows up. The way I understand it they come up and grow similar but they like the buck forage better so they eat it better, I have not tested this theory. Good luck Jeff!

I trust that he's actually done the research.

Part 5 of "The Dr. Deer Forage Management System: A Revolution in Whitetail Management" by Dr. James C. Kroll, "Dr. Deer", and Ben H. Koerth.Recorded August ...
