Been hunting the grasslands for 3 years really hard and spend alot of time scouting in the summer and have only seen 2 water moccasins and 3 water snakes. All at cotton wood lake. Was scouting about 3 weeks ago in shorts and tennis shoes. Thats just me though. I make my son wear snake boots. More because of thorns.

I've been close to buying snake boots.

My 90 year old granddad that was born and raised in South Texas went after a rattler that was on his front porch with a broom two years ago. I don't know if I could look him in the eyes after buying a pair.

I've never worn them. My feet are too big and they don't make my size. I hunted for years out around the Possum Kingdom-Breckenridge area. I just kept my eye out for snakes. I saw plenty of them too. Just be careful.

I'll also add that I do like to toss them on trailing a deer. Not too concerned during daylight but I really do like them when tracking
