My dad is in his 70’s and still likes to go hunt out in the National Forest by himself. We use climbing stands in several places that have little to no cellular service. There are also some places we can go that emergency responders will NOT find unless one of us show them the way.
I have thought about a personal distress beacon that he can take with him in his hunting pack. That way, if he gets lost, hurt, etc., he can activate it and get help ASAP.
Do any of you guys have any experience with any brands? I’m thinking ease of use, reliability, and cost effectiveness. I’d like to find one that would connect to a satellite and not have to use cellular services.
I’m open to the pros and cons of anything you got. Thanks in advance.
