Texas quail hunting forecast.
We aren't looking great. I saw some pairs with chicks mid summer but not much since.
It'll be interesting. I haven't taken my dog out yet but will in the next week or two, just to see if we can come across any.

Yep. Late summer drought is killing us every year it seems. My dog is 3 and we haven't had huntable numbers yet in Fisher Co. I'll be going south and north once again.

Look up Dr. Dale on Quail podcast... Dr. Dale Rowling's(sp?)
He leads the rolling planes research ranch and has an estimate every year. He put his out in September I think... It's on the podcast

they were good in south texas last yr. We put up 20 coveys a day average. Wasnt able to get out west this past yr. Maybe this yr.
