I've been planning to attend and fish this year. However, my wife has a work trip the following week. She'll be packing, and I will take her to DFW airport on Sunday morning. I'm not sure how much time I'll have, but I'm planning to be there for the fish fry, and at least a little fishing. My oldest son works almost every day, so it will probably just be me and my younger son, he's 17.
I have an old deck boat, and I should have room for 1 or 2 people, I just won't be there the entire time. At this point I'm hoping to be there some of Friday and Saturday.

Ok... This sounds like a blast! Shane and I are talking about trying to make it. We have no boat but I'm game for bringing the kayaks, shoulder recovery pending. If I can't kayak, I'm happy to sit on shore and drink beer!

Edit to add: Ugh it looks like everywhere has a 2 night minimum stay and we can only come for Saturday night so we may have to settle for coming just for the day Saturday.

You should be able to get a motel room in Sulphur Springs for one night. It's only 25 miles from Pope's Landing.
