I don't aim for the rear leg when its back that far. I'd rather the arrow go through the heart, and pass through.

Had a similar shot on #2....hit at B and barely clipped the base of the heart....dead at 60 yards. Thankful for Grim Reapers width on that day.

    Fast forward to 1:20

Nice buck and great shot. Also something to be said for shooting them when they are fully relaxed. He didn't move an inch before the arrow struck.

Brain fart. Rear leg should be opposite leg in the quote above. My multitasking sucked this am.

      And thanks Art!

I was thinking if anything slightly lower.

Little higher and you catch lungs too which are a lot bigger and more forgiving of an errant shot. Too low and he runs forever. I actually thought I hit too low on the video before I realized I reviewed the shot.

Heights of the letters vs the dots.
Letter heights is where I’d want to impact also. ABC at letter height on all pictures should result in a dead deer. D on second pic is guts, but still probably would kill the deer.

                1. A.5
                2. B.5
                3. B
and perhaps just a touch higher ( 1-2 inches) What they said about the letters. ^^^^^^^^^^
But that's also gonna depend on the length of the shot.

                    A - Heart

                    A - Heart

                    B - Back of Heart

I do not want to intentionally hit the off side leg..

An inch above B on all three

I usually aim a bit low to account for the deer reacting to the sound and starting to duck down. Those dots are about right...unless shooting from an elevated position which would put the point of aim higher.
