This past weekend, I got a nice 8 pt buck off of my buddy’s ranch in Medina County. This is a management buck that he wanted off of his place.
The weather was a nice 43 degrees when I got to the tree stand at 6am on Saturday morning. A group of 6 does came in early. At about 7:30 this guy came in with 3 more does. The does at the feeder spooked and they all ran off, including him.
A small group of bachelor spikes came and left. A few does came in. At just after 8am this buck came back to corn. I arrowed him at about 15 yards. He ran off and expired at about 30 yards. Great experience at my buddies place.
Now that I have meat in the freezer after elk tag soup in Colorado, There are several really nice 10 point bucks that I want to get at before the end of the season. There are also quite a few hogs that may catch an arrow too.
