I believe it is a '73-'74 and we didn't wear scarfs, more like bell bottoms and big collared shirts

I remember little Bobby Ewing drove a red SL450. Jock always respected JR more.

I’ll tell ya what, those are good solid cars. Had a 560 for a bit and it was a pleasure to drive. I picked up a 2001 600sl with the panoramic top about 10 months ago and have enjoyed the bejeesus out of it. Only problem I ever have is it sits and I need to buy a battery tender for it. I only take it out on date night so that has equaled 210 miles or something rediculous. Makes no sense to own it so it’s probably going to go sometime.

                  Enjoy the new ride!!!

I think it's a badarse ride for sure. Just had to make a jab at the Gluten vs. Glutton but it was late and I had some scotch...

I like it and I'll bet you get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Please post up more pics of it when you get it home.

In 1972 or 73 I was 18 years old and working on a quarter horse ranch in Lubbock. The owner of the ranch, who was a banker, would come out every few days to check on his horses. He was always driving his 450SL and sometimes he would be low on gas. He would tell me to drive it over to the above ground tank and gas it up. That car was a monster to me. I loved it and I've never forgotten it. I envy you, nice ride.
