Kiddo got a 4.5 year old doe. Lots of Javi's, didn't see a single hog or yote come in.

My boy is excited. We'll either be in my black tacoma 4 door or a brown xterra.
      Look us up this weekend!

I don't know if it's been mentioned but the brush out there is THICK, very thick in most places. Wiped a couple ticks off us just walking to the blind. Not much visibility and a lot of territory. Also their blinds do not have chairs so bring your own, they will assign you a bucket chair if needed. They were passing out "hunter orange" packets for those that needed them. Orientation started at 10am and truck caravans didn't form until about 12:15 to escort to the hunting areas so don'tplan on going to orientation and leaving for lunch as it'll be a while longer. There were about 45 trucks in the caravan, impressive to see. They have a walk-in cooler and skinning rack but no water hose to spray just a stainless sink.

To add, the tower blinds are open air. No roofs. The floors are expanded metal, no carpet. Which can be loud.

You can borrow a bucket chair at HQ if they don't run out but the kids and I brought folding hunting stools (think what you use for dove hunting). If there was nothing on the blind sendero we'd bail out to check another sendero that we had corned. The folding dove stools make decent rifle rests, are lightweight and extremely mobile.

Just cut ya 4'x5' piece of carpet and use that. Worked well for us over the years.

How was deer movement overall? See any mature bucks?

Yes and carpet works good to keep cold air from blowing up from below when it’s nippy out.

Really excited about this weekend. Got everything packed. Just need to pick up a few groceries in the morning and plan to hit the road about 3. We will be in a grey Tundra with a black Diamondback cover.

Son shot the only deer we saw and she was alone and pretty spooky. Not much visibility though, could have been covered up in deer and not known.

Was that because of the fog?

The boy wants a warthog! I dare say that I'd like to see one as well.

Got drawn for the 27th, 28th, and 29th of November, don't remember the category. Haven't paid that much attention to it, just know we are going on those dates. Never been there, hope its a good place.

No there wasn't any fog. The unit we were in was incredibly thick brush and no sendero's seemed to be cut straight. They had one blind in there, zero visibility one way, about 60 yards the other way with a 100 yard random freshly shredded path behind it. I'd definitely recommend bringing portable tripod of some sort to setup better. You're not allowed to hunt from roads which are the only straight lines out there it seems.

You aren’t allowed to hunt roads? That’s crazy and they allowed the corn?
