Love them open roads. Stay clear of big metro areas. Cagers have zero respect for motorcycles. Especially the four eyed soccer moms texting on their cell phones.

I agree on taking Hwy 16. Much more scenic than 281 and way less traffic.

Hwy 16. The Sportsman road

This is my thoughts as well. Stay on 16 and go South of San Antonio, side trip over to Leakey and the twisted Sisters, look that up. You will not regret it. Stay safe. There is a Motorcycle Motel in Leakey as well, nice place to stay. Visit Cooksey Part at Camp Wood while your there.
