What protein pellet for deer?

Not yet. I have a coon hood but have yet to install it.

I was curious, I know Coonhoods are the way to go, just looking at options. I only had to worry about coons but now I have a permanent cow issue, a pen moved up to the top of my list.

I’m a fan of the panels! Easy to move around and very sturdy! Can put a T-Post in if needed to keep cows from pushing on them.

Lyssy and Eckel if you have that as an Option.
i go to the store in Poth and it is about $10.50 per bag.

My FIL pours Cotten seed meal pellets in troughs and they eat it so anything is better than nothing.

If I had a Lyssy & Eckel nearby that's what I would use. I'm using Hi-Pro from Struddy's . 17% @ $10.50/bag. Cant keep the feeder full. 300# feeder has usually been good for a while. right now it's being emptied in a week. Lot of bucks hitting it hard.

We feed the Palmer Eco Deer 17%. Be handy for you.

That's what I went with from Palmers. Fairly reasonable. Now we will see how the deer respond to it. Test site 1, 300lbs put out.

Do you have water near by your protein?

We have waters within 1/2 mile. My next project I wanted to put additional non-livestock waters closer to my stands.

From here on TBH. Check your local hardware/fence supply store and see if they carry Goat Panels. They set up quickly!

There is another thread here with details on another company that makes them. Not a single hog has been in my pens.
