Start by replacing your cabin air filter, very simple and usually within or behind the glove box. I get the Febreeze or Gain scented filter. Dryer Sheets work too. I also found a container with gel filled beads at Walmart, put under the seat and it lasted a long time.

Chemical Guys Spray hands down. Spray it from time to time on the carpet and seats and then a couple squirts when stinky gets out.

Had to toss a camera case after taking it in a two month old decomp claim.

I could faintly smell it for weeks, would get a whiff every now and then.

finally figured out the source and threw it out -- no more smell.
