Killed this huge rat snake yesterday evening.

Heard the chickens raising a fuss and found it in the nest box. Thought it was eating eggs but it had killed and was trying to eat my wife's baby chicken

7' measured with tape and big as my wrist (not stuffed full of eggs either)

Just in case anyone wants to try and scold or shame me for killing it --
Out in the woods they get a pass, get in the chicken house and no quarter given

I gave another rat snake and a coachwhip passes in the last week when I could have easily whacked them

I would’ve done the same if it would’ve been in or near my chicken coop. Make no mistake, it would’ve been a crap show. They are all deadly to me!

I had a huge one in under the hood of my Mule a couple weeks ago. I pulled and pulled on him but couldn't get it out. I finally got i the Mule and went and got the mail and hoped he would fall out. I never got to see how long it was but it was the biggest around of any that I had ever seen.

That’s a huge rat snake. My wife and girls have killed three in the chicken house in the last month.

Here is one my daughter found when she went out to put the chickens up.

Randy I think it is called a garden cultivator.


Missing the middle tine and the others bent from abusing it (beating snakes, using as a sling blade, etc )

Was every bit of 84" but not 86 or more either
