                                I used 2 1/2” x 1/4” self threading torx screws like the ones you might use on a trailer floor. Drilled a pilot with a 7/32 bit and they thread right in. Bought a six pack of the bits and they lasted the whole project. Used an electric drill for the pilot and a cordless right behind it for the screws. Was not difficult at all and went pretty fast. Bought the screws on eBay.
                                I tried using 1/4” self tappers but it was difficult and several broke.
