People shouldn’t even pay attention to the model forecast.

They have been fairly accurate then last 18 months I have been following. At least enough to be aware of it.

As always nothing to treat as the bible but good to be aware.

I was just saying the same thing to myself!

August 31st...birds everywhere. Recent rains have tanks full of water. Temps below 100, slight breeze.

September 1st...not a bird in sight. Hot. Humidity thick enough to turn with a spatula. No breeze; not a thing stirring. It's miserable and yet, for no other reason other than it's September 1st, there we sit.

Lovely, boat's in the shop so I can't go shore up camp before it hits.

They are saying now the most likely target is along the Texas/Mexico border.

A lot can change between now and then.

And the next model run doesn’t even show that being a storm or impacting Texas. That’s why I don’t pay attention much to those that far out.

Storm hasn't even formed yet.. Very early for specific landfall discussions.. Keep an eye on it though.

Probabilities are high that we will see a tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend and into the beginning of next week. We will just have to wait and see...just depends if the ridge keeps it west of us or if this system sniffs out a weakness in the ridge and hits the Texas coast. Definitely wouldn't rule out a Texas landfall so we need to watch this one closely.
