Media has blew it out of proportion. A family homesteaded thousands of acres that the government came and took from them years and years ago to turn into a wildlife refuge. A big prairie fire started And Burnt the animal refuge and the ranchers place including his house and others on the ranch. He started a back fire to stop the original fire that started and the government arrested the man and boy said to have started the whole fire when a lighting strike started it. I know this first hand from a good friend I work with as this is part of his family. This fight has been going on for years now with the government after they took the land flooded there houses out and ran off over 200,000 head of cattle of theirs.

Wasn't the govt trying to buy their ranch and they refused? Been railroaded ever since it seems.

Big BS story about the sentences. Going back after the time was served and adding more time is BS.

There was a mandatory MINIMUM sentence, which original judge thought was cruel and unusual punishment for length of sentence, so he changed it to several months to a year, which was served.

Fed prosecutor did not like length of sentence, appealed to higher court and won. Much lengthier sentences this time.

Or something to this effect. Going by article I read this morning.
            BS on many levels.
And the father/son are distancing themselves from the "rioters".

They are being charged as terrorists thus the minimum 5 year sentence. All for starting a backfire on their own land.

If you read the article they also did a prescribed burn that jumped the fence line and burned 1xx acres of blm land. Blm is saying they did that on purpose as well. I would be ashamed if my governor ,state Rep , congressman etc was standing by watching this happen. It makes me think maybe there is more to the story........ things are written for one side or the other.

BLM is full of crooks & thieves. Study up on just how many long standing family ranchers it's screwed over the years. Some of these families were FORCED to give up their land that their family had been ranching since the 1800's. The BLM needs to be governed & instead they just run free. They've been sued by ranchers many times & have lost many times yet they still run rampant. Courts ruling for ranchers, against the BLM, so many times should be a huge red flag.

                        Correct!

The Feds burn 1/3 of the ANWR here in TX every year, its 155k acres. And their fires have gotten out of control and burned neighboring ranches. That's a lot of terrorism some federal employees need to be serving that mandatory 5yr jail sentence. It's also kind of ironic. The records of the government leasing, and not buying, Madagorda Island were lost, "one day there was a fire". Just saying.

Those fires were nothing more than brush control, not terrorism.

You want a government that comes in and takes what they want?
Move your *** to Russia, China, Mexico, practically anywhere else.

It's pretty clear you have no idea what the founders of this country believed in.
