What is happening to my fish?

Caught a bass two weeks ago with a red spot on its side. I assumed it was a bite mark and didn't see any other fish that looked abnormal. Last weekend I see 10-15 fish with marks and what looks like a fungus but couldn't get anything to bite so I could get a better look.

This morning I find four fish dead. I'm sure someone knows what this is and a way to treat it. This is a pond slightly under an acre.

Could be wrong but I was always told the bite marks are from water turkeys. Turtles as well if you got a bunch of em

I thought the original bass I caught two weeks ago was from turtles, looked more like the bottom picture I posted. Every bass I see in the 12-14 inch size looks like the top picture.

We have a lot of trouble with cormorants damaging our fish. That bass does not look like the work of a cormorant though. It does look bacterial or fungal. You better let a biologist check that.

Call Overton or someone. They may be able tell you if you email that picture to them.

I agree. You need to have it looked at by a pro

That was my plan if no one was sure.

I thought of that, had it in my aquarium a few months back. Wasn't sure if that was an issue in larger bodies of water.

Wow, I didn't realize Ick, was a pond/lake issue? Just associated it with aquariums.

Looks like some form of cancer. Maybe you should have the water tested
