Glad to have you joining in, Jonny! Really, you hit on exactly the point of this and many challenges -- will it KILL?!? Like the Forged in Fire guy. If the answer is "yes", then this helped.

Great shot, Briar ..... buuuut, you're killin me Smalls.

I took a Day 2 shot, since set-up was still in place. Also shot from one-knee stance, this time with fieldtip.

Here's pics. Same jug as before, so "before" pic shows Day 1 hole above "+". Shot is lower than first, but right about 1-1/2". Not an improvement, so didn't measure.

1st attempt, and first shot this week.

May try it again tomorrow, if I can scrounge up another jug.

I sure wish they would fix the video embedding here, then leave it alone.

And, really, no reason not to re-use same jug, if you want.

Thanks Gary. I hope the hunt went well.

I found this target shoot to be a great demonstration of the importance of pass throughs on fluid loss. When I shot completely through the bottle...it drains rapidly. When the arrow goes through but doesnt pass through because of backstop closeness, the shaft arrow acts as a cork and the water stays put and barely seeps out. Overall, really a no brainer but a great emphasizer to me of the benefit of passthrough shots on meaty vessels full of blood.

Two feet of snow and hibernating bears. Very boring. But yes, two holes better than one and s big hole drains better. A wide cut two blade of a good three blade.

My boy got close to the bottle on his first shot from 7 yds. It took about 8 shots until he hit it. Lots of whooping and high fives ensued...and bottle squeezin.
