That said, I recently received an Outdoor Edge that has the changeable blades as a birthday gift. It got a bit of a workout this weekend and held up well. I’ll definitely be keeping it and a few spare blades around just in case.

We have one of those that came with some kitchen knives my wife bought. I've never been able to put an edge on ANY knife with it. First time I've ever seen one recommended. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I let a friend use it recently while he was processing an elk. He said it took 3 separate sharpenings before he had a good edge. I don't know...I've had good luck with it on my knives.

I have one of these in my pocket all the time! Guys at work hit me up to put an edge on their pocket knives often.

I have a worksharp I just bought. I like it. The edge probably lasts longer than the Smith above, but that little Smith is super handy to have around.
