    Souse Vide Venison with bordelaise sauce

    I've never done this before but after seeing Chef John (youtube channel Food Wishes) make it I had to try it with venison backstrap. Still 45 minutes till dinner but my kitchen smells amazing. More later with the requisite pics or it didn't happen.

    It was pretty incredible if I don't say so myself.
    You sous vide skeptics must be doing it all wrong.
    The bordelaise sause was really good too but to be honest it was way more work than is required.
    All you really need to do is sear the steaks and then deglaze with a little red wine and reduce it down then stir in a little butter for a pretty great pan sauce.

        Sous vide is the way to go with venison

          Looks great. I've been on the fence about a sous vide for awhile but I think I'm going to take the plunge.
