2019 Saltwater Fishing Thread

Fished Carancahua bay yesterday in Port Lavaca. Water was like chocolate milk mixed with mud mixed with Yoohoo. I think I caught a channel cat??? Can anyone confirm what this is? It ate good whatever it was.

Definately a blue cat and not a hard head.

Just ordered some purp/char and some white ice.. heading to FL in July and gonna try em down there..

Havent really read or heard much of speckled trout in the surf near destin. They were thick as thieves in Surfside near Galveston..

None in the surf there. On spoons in the mornings we caught bluefish and ladyfish last year. On mullets and sand fleas we caught about 300 baby sharks. I think all the sharks pushed everything else out when we were there.

Caught one pompano on a fishbite.

Ugh!!! Well, as some of you know a car backed into me pinning my torso between her car and my tailgate a few weeks ago while I was loading 50# bags of fertilizer. I was just getting back in the swing of things from that and pushed myself a little too hard to get the deck completed and re-injured my neck, shoulder, and back. As a result of this, no fishing or lifting over 2#’s for the next 6-8 weeks!
