I'm heading out at 3. Hoping to be in the blind by 5 for about a hour sit... I have a really good deer I've been seeing for 6 years now since we got on the lease but he is old and smart. Hopefully he will make a mistake this weekend... and hopefully he is still alive (havent seen him on cam since opening weekend of rifle) but that's nothing new he usually disappears until rut when the boom sticks come out.

No pics, that is the second 170 that I know of that he has taken, the other one i missed 3 times with my bow

Ya bow hunt and they hang at 45 yards. Ya gun hunt and they come in to 3 yards.
I think the rut is just starting after this weekend.

I arrived at our place to find out every feeder was empty, the wheat was barely up, pretty poor hunting but one stud 8 could have been had, partner let him walk.

Our rancher and my lease mate both shot nice bucks this weekend. Bucks definitely chasing does.

If it is the same buck Jeff said he was a toad. I sat in the stand where he seen him Sunday morning, was hoping to get Kyle a crack at him. no such luck.

I was just pullin your chain we have a slew of 130 inch 8s. Haven't seen a big 8 yet.

Anyone see the benefit of feeding a 40% corn, 30% roasted soybean, 30% Record Rack nugget mix from a spin cast feeder after season? It shouldn’t clog up with that ratio. Now that I have a pen and won’t be feeding hogs, I may do that in the off season. No one feeds corn until August/September. No one else has a pen to keep hogs out either. Good idea or waste of time and money?

I’m reluctant to spend all the money on free choice protein as no one else on the place would be on board to help out with the cost.
