Or maybe the Democrats don't come to help with border security over this but instead they watch as Trump starts deporting people and they get video footage of families being split up to try and damage Trump.

Trumps ultimate goal is border security by building a wall and any other means. He's not wanting to get rid of every illegal immigrant. If he has to start deporting more he will. If the Democrats start showing video footage of families being split up he'll just say the Democrats wont negotiate. He's not worried about the Democrats he's satisfying his base by trying to accomplish what he ran on.

True! Except that most illegal immigrants aren't trying to get amnesty and he's not trying to get rid of them. He's just using it as leverage to help get control of the border.
Several of Trump's big supporters employ illegal immigrants. I'm sure they don't ask if they are illegal but they assume they are. Just about every ranch in Texas and all over the country hire illegal immigrants. Most people don't want every immigrant gone, just control of the flow.

Personally I think they should put a "backpack " limit on people crossing the border. I use to deal with them every day and it wasn't until they started carrying guns and drugs in a backpack that they became a problem. Let the ranchers and border patrol take care of everyone carrying a backpack and it'll stop.

Heck, I did not realize until some talking head on yesterdays talk shows said that the last administration deported over 2 million illegal folks from every corner of the globe!!!
