    HDPE pipe cultipacker

I saw this cultipacker on another forum and decided to try it myself:

Here's the sketch i drew up:

I added a doctor blade to clean mud or rocks off the back of the roller. I wanted to totally DIY this but got busy this week so I had the guys at our shop help out. I was going to have them cut the doctor blade on the plasma table anyway, so easy for me to let them do most of the work.

    Concrete pour:

I should have finished photos early next week. It will weigh over 1000 lbs. I'll be interested to see how the hdpe holds up. I wanted something heavy for our hard soil clods we get at our place.

Nice, can't wait to see how it goes. I've got 5ft of the same pipe as well, but I cut it in 1ft segments so it may hopefully be easier to load and unload. I stopped the build until after hunting season.

Sure hope they got that pipe centered. Looks like it will work and I bet that pipe will last a long time for food plot size use.

Like the idea. I'm thinking build the towing frame to attach to the disc- when not in use it lays up on top of the disc for added weight but when using it flip it over the end of the disc to follow along just behind it. Now, figuring out how to handle something that heavy to be flipping it back and forth onto the top of the disc could be the engineering marvel part of this.

Got it put together. Made a few design changes from the sketch. Needs some paint, we'll see how it works soon.

That is awesome. What size angle iron did you use.

Wow! That is way cool! Once again, I wish I knew how to weld and had the equipment and time to do something like that.

I drew it up as 3"x3"x 1/4", but we didn't have any of that in stock at the shop so we used 4x4x1/4, which we had a bunch of.
