Missed an 8 at 40 yards. Gotta figure out where i can move my stand a little closer to the trail. Clipped a hanging limb I didn't see and arrow went straight down. Saw around 8 bucks and 3 doe. They were moving good this morning with the cold weather. We don't get 35 degrees in the middle of October often.

Great thing about public land... no feeder... so your never really late. And noise means nothing as long as it isn’t metal or accompanied by a flashlight. Everything in them woods makes noise, only one thing has a light

I'm hunting a natural funnel point for them. I was late getting there but still needed a headlamp and was banging my rapid rails around more than usual since this was the first hunt. I get stealthier after a few trips. Had a doe watching me close to my stand as I was walking in. I got 50 yards from her before she moved off. It was daylight the time I got settled and it wasn't 30 minutes later when the first doe showed up.
