The pressure switch is supposed to be closed. If it’s open it’s because of low pressure.

I have learned more in the past 2 weeks about my unit than I have in the previous 20 years of living here.

I thought I would give an update.

That was a low pressure switch on the high pressure side. I had a 100% loss of charge. That prevented the contactor from switching on the condenser.

The unit has been replaced.

What caused the loss of charge?

Hole in evap or condenser?


I had to replace my whole unit over the summer due to a hole in the evap coil.
