Gifting an Auto

We are giving my daughter one of our cars. Will we have to pay sales tax on the value the county assigns or is there some provision for situations where no money transfers?

should only have to pay a gift tax , if i remember correctly its about 15 bucks and you will have to pay title transfer but no sales tax . i did it a few years ago .

I think you have to fill out a form from DPS and it has to be notarized.

These two forms filled out and the one notarized. Pay gift tax and all done.
