Didn't have time to look for sheds but adjusted our water and checked a mineral lick. Elk found the mineral and are using the trace mineral block and checking out the 30-06 loose minerals.
This lick is about 200 yds from the creek, above the meadows. Elk cross the creek and come from the hills above the meadows to feed.

        You are welcome.
Greenup is slow it seems this year, but then again summer never gets here fast enough.
Water for irrigation might be an issue later in summer. We usually irrigate until early July, hay gets cut and we irrigate a little more til water gets too low.

Hoping top plant some PowerPlant along a few ditches in about a month, roundup first to kill the grass growing there.

No sign of the whitetails that were hanging out last summer, yet.

Checked the mineral licks and some of the springs on the ranch. Water is looking ok right now. Opened up the last head gate and got the south ditch flowing.
Elk and deer are using the licks.
Saw a nice band of bighorn sheep and several elk along with about 35 mule deer when out and about.
Picked up some older sheds and I did a little fishing to see of we have many fish, had a pretty severe flash flood 2 years ago that really blew out the creek. We had debris all over the meadows.

Some small stream trout , had some nice 1-2 lb browns in here before the flash flood.
The WG&F research facility elk are putting on some nice bone too.

Saw the turkeys had made it back along the highway. We were thinking they may have perished in the blizzard and deep snow but a nice tom and hens showed up a week ago or so.
I'll be making my access call again this week.

Forgot, we found another mt lion kill by the creek. Looks like a young mule deer and it was not there last weekend.
We'll be buying a tag and watching for it this coming fall into winter. Thought it had maybe moved down the drainage but now we know it has not.

Been slow last several days, snow and decent moisture but soil temps are not up enough yet to plant.
We've been moving irrigation water, creek is up nicely actually.
Hoping to plant some Powerplant along some of the ditches when soil temps get right.

We may also have some irrigation help during the week if the landowner's friend agrees to help out a day or so midweek.
