Yup. I can agree with that. Anything over 250 is big to me. I do believe most people’s scale is just off. They just believe hogs are bigger than they are. We catch 2-300 hogs a year with dogs and weigh tons of them. Even with all the examples, it’s still easy to guess something way bigger.
I’ve been lucky to catch 25-30 hogs over 300#’s the last 10 years with dogs. In that time we’ve caught 3 over 400#’s. To me the 400 mark is our “white whale” so to speak. Those type hogs take on a different look. Almost beastly. I believe the black hog I posted is our next one over 4.
