    Snake guys

I'm trying to become the guy that doesnt kill every snake I see. What kind is this? I'm 99 percent sure it's not poisonous by my recent study.
    Thanks.

Rat snake are some refer to it as a chicken snake. Good one to have around if you don't have chickens.

Rat snake. I had one eat about 8+ chicken eggs yesterday. I figured he would be full for a few days and got my usual amount this evening. Those snakes are great for field mice, but they also eat the baby birds. I let 'em live, they're good for the farm.

You might also study the scales keel pattern, the little ridge each scale has. Its more pronounced(heavy) on our pit-vipers.
