On September 21st, 2018, my wife and I received our first foster placement. It was terrifying at the time, as we had no kids of our own, and had no experience raising children. To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to be a father, and was mostly trying to make my wife happy. Within a few days I was in love, and within a few weeks it felt like they had been with us forever. In September 2019 we were blessed to be able to adopt our daughters. They’ve grown so much in two years, and so much of the damage they received in their past life has been been healed and faded away. They’re a perfect fit in our family, and such a blessing to us. Our oldest is now 7, and our youngest is 4. I have a feeling the younger is going to be my hunting buddy, and our oldest will be our cheerleader, but they both love to fish at least . It’s amazing to see what they’ve already become, and what they’ve made me become as well.
