Bought my place back in 2012, closes pole was 6/10ths 9f a mile away. CTEC refused to give me a quote unless I committed to having the work done. They also refused to run power lines unless I had a permanent water source on the place (how was I going to power a well pump?[emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]) Anyways they gave me a worst case cost of $9/ft to run it which would've been almost $30k. I would still owe them a monthly check and the infrastructure I paid for wouldn't belong to me.
Bandera charged our neighbor $35,000 for just under a mile. We even used our equipment for the right of way on our place to save him money. With our permission he came off our feed. Had he not had this option it would have been double that.
You are a good neighbor most people would allow this any longer.
