As many others have said, Honey Locust. I had dozens on my place in Tioga. I have a few that I left where my feeder is. Deer hang around it.

yep. Used to have em all over the place at my old lease in Eden. Those thorns will punch a hole in even the best of tires.

This ^ aka Black Locust. The wood is hard, too. It is a native Texas tree. Don't cut it and leave it - it will re-sprout. If you cut it down, hit it with Remedy and diesel.

Yep, ruined one chain. They do burn like crazy in the burn pile. Have a hole in my tractor tire from one right now.

Cut it and burn it completely or it will regrow. We learned this the hard way when I was growing up. Before the days of using herbicides I’ve helped my dad and grandfather cut these things completely down only to have 10 more of them shoot up the following year.

I hate those **** things with a passion. They’ve made me bleed more than I care to recall. Satan invented them.

Don't get a thorn in your foot. My brother stepped on one once & just about lost his foot. Really screwed him up for a while.
