    Attracting axis

Just wondering what y’all do to bring axis in regularly. I have a hunt coming up pretty soon and I just want to know what can be done to draw them in regularly and keep them there

I’ve got bales of alfalfa out and they seem to like that

They will sometimes get on the feeder pattern thing for a bit, but they certainly can’t be relied on to show up like whitetails do. Alfalfa is a great draw, but I’ve seen them turn their nose up to it all too often if there’s green grass to graze on. Being grazers, they are nomadic, much like cattle. If it’s dry and there’s a good water source nearby, sit on that and see what happens.

Good luck and let us know how ya do.

Just has been a steady stream of corn and a few bales of alfalfa to keep them coming.
We know they prefer the grass, but when that is not available the corn and aromatic hays bring them in.

If it arrives in time, I will try it when I go turkey hunting

Sweet feed. Seems like they can smell it from a good ways off.

Have they migrated to the Brownwood area yet?

I have an Ez Axis but haven’t used it in the woods yet. Tip- when you blow out/break the latex on the call, pull that piece out and turn it around. The guy built a second reed on the backside that can be used as a replacement, it’s just not advertised about.
