    Guitar build

Wow! That is an awesome gift! Can’t wait to see the finished product. I play but can’t even imagine the skill and work required to hand make one.

Cool thread, she will love it!
        I'll be following.

A friend that I play with is a carpenter, he's building a telecaster.
And if he wraps it in leather like Waylon's, I'm not sure I can contain my jealousy.

yes on indian rosewood. I think the top is englemann spruce which will be inlaid with abalone.

Keep the pics coming. I’ll show to my 16 year old son who is a guitar nut.

                Beautiful!
I'm working on a 000 right now, which is more or less indistinguishable from "orchestra models" in terms of body geometry. I love the curvy waist and bright treble sound you get out of them compared to the dreadnought... which was intended to be a bass-heavy rhythm instrument.

Would you mind sharing his cont info? I have a guitar that needs a fret job, but I haven’t found anyone I trust to do it right. It’s an older guitar.

Nice choice of tone woods on that one. Who is the builder? Looks like he is doing some quality work, but as Shane mentioned, it is an interesting bracing pattern...

Vince Pawless in Gainesville. I'm not real versed on guitar bracing, but he said he basically beefs up an X brace pattern. He had Jack Ingram's Guitar in his shop the last time I stopped by. He built it originally. He said Jack is hard on a guitar.

still has a lot of sanding and finish work to do.
