    My Vetern's Day Present

Hadn't been hunting in 6 years and finally got to punch another tag last night. First blood with the new Carbon Express Bloodshed and she's shooting sweet! Dropped her at 30 yards with a BEE/Slick Trick Mag 100 combo. First time my 4 years old's seen a deer down and he thought it was 'super cool'. Made for a nice Veteran's Day present for me too. USAF Ammo, IYAAYAS!
And as someone pointed out, no she's not gutted yet and yes I should have done it 'in the field' but I got her about 100 yards off the back of my property so it was easier to pull her to the shop where I had some better light. Smh...facebook warriors. lol

Congrats, and BTW, I haven't gutted a deer in 25 years. No reason to unless you hunting is hot temperatures and can't get them in the cooler in a reasonable amount of time.

x3 After learning to quarter a deer without messing with the guts years ago, I no longer mess with them.

Thanks guys. My deer processor isn't but 2 miles down the road. Might just take it straight to him next time. I was not happy with my skills. Couldn't find my knife from 6 years ago either so that didn't help either I'm sure.

Ignore the idiots on Facebook, I'm convinced that half of those folks don't know the difference between their butt and a hole in the ground. They repeat rhetoric that they've heard and aren't capable of a single original thought.

And I'm with a few other guys who have already commented. I would never gut an animal if the lease rules didn't dictate that we have a field dressed weight in the log book
