Great idea, it will help with the sun glare that ruins some pics too. I don't guess the flash against the lip on the top of the coffee can will be to bright and white the pic out?

I used J-B WELD and used the handle side I cut out and it worked perfect to tilt the camera with the python cable running through the sides.
