If you ever need a tracking dog in Panhandle, Jeff Bonner is your guy. One of our guys had call him last weekend. Would highly recommend Jeff and Annie. Annie amazed me with her skills.

Can someone post his number on this. I get a couple of calls a year from panhandle guys looking for a tracking dog. I would have called him for sure Tuesday night. I was within 30 yards of that buck but couldn’t find him in the waist high weeds.

Myway after 1.4 mile track was determined he was not hit mortality. Called off the tracking job.

Took the boy up for the long weekend, campfire time and get a little work done.









Lots of animals moving, even with the full moon.
Deer emptied 1500 lb. feeder in less than 3 weeks.
Still bachelored up.

An old lease manager told me once:
“If you have to talk yourself into shooting a buck, he’s not a shooter.”















I think these bucks need one more year.
My boy doesn’t agree.
We’ll see.

Camera got turned 90° by something really large.
No idea where he came from.

Back in the stand this evening. I'm trying to get it done early this year. Size really doesn't matter... Oh and the Mrs agrees. Tired of trophies on the wall. Says I have too many.

Weather looks a little up and down this weekend, but will be in stand watching and waiting. Good luck to everyone.

I made my first impromptu hunt up there, some here may have followed along on the live hunt. I saw 3 great bucks in the 3 hunts I made but only 1 from the stand. I did kill a doe and a boar hog that turned over one of our feeders so all in all it was a success. Cool country and some nice deer up that way. Looking forward to a lot of hunting up there soon.

Opening weekend Muley for buddy Nate. Beautiful big boy (243#) still in velvet!! 21” spread and just gorgeous deer.
