If no candidate receives a majority of Electoral votes, the House of Representatives elects the President from the 3 Presidential candidates who received the most Electoral votes. Therefore Trump still wins with the house majority being republican at the time of the election.

Technically the total would have been 266-265 in favor of Trump. (You take 38 and put it on the other side) Since neither one would have won the 270 electoral votes needed the vote would have gone to the House of Representatives to decide. In theory Trump would win since the Republicans had majority of the house at the time but with the animosity to Trump from politicians on both sides that wouldn't be a guarantee in this election.

Yes but I think all republicans and maybe even a couple of dems would have said "anybody but Hillary". The Sanders supporters might have even gone with Trump. All water under the bridge now and the snowflakes are still falling-----somewhere.
