    Built an electric smoker

A buddy of mine had this stainless cart sitting in his shop. I thought it would make a good smoker for sausage at the ranch.

          Controller

Used a cheap temp controller, thermocouple and SSR that I ordered off of Amazon.

LOL. I can successfully build a smoker, but cant figure out how to load more than one picture at a time.

Be careful there Bob. In that first pic, it looks like it's smoke-n.

Thankfully it was wood chips and not electrical. Lol

Did the controller come wired like that or did you have to wire it all together ?

I had to wire everything up.

Any idea if they sell the controller units complete? I want to do something similar but for a cerakote oven...unfortunately I’m not too electrically inclined...

So does this setup just turns the power on and off to the heating coil depending on the setpoint and its deviation and what the temperature of the sensor is reading. Or does it adjust the power up and down going to the heating coil?
