So she’s been sitting with me since she was 4 years old and she loves being in the woods. In fact she would rather be in the blind than school, stores or anywhere else about 90% of the time! Last season I was blessed to get on a lease with a couple guys from TBH. My buddy had to get off the lease so I got off as well. Last year she got her first doe and a spike off that lease with her cross bow. Fast forward she’s been shooting her crossbow and practicing for months. We have 20 acres in Goliad county that I have a feeder on. Opening weekend she took an older 3pointer and drilled him. He ran literally 38 yards and folded up. I decided to reward her with letting her take a good deer. Saturday morning she was ready to go at 4AM, I reminder her the feeder doesn’t go off for 3 hours and to please get back in bed. We got in the blind about 6:20 and at 7:23 she pulled the trigger and sent her crossbow dart into her first good buck which was at a hard quartered away shot at 28 yards! To say she was pumped up and excited would be an understatement! God blessed us with a great hunt, harvest and memory!
