Big bodied buck out in the middle of the bean field walking under pivot headed back to the bluff

Had a nice deer I could of smoked at broadside while he was scraping by the big oak. Wasn’t mature enough for me though (or I’m just dumb[emoji52]). Cell reception is bad here and I haven’t really seen anything else. I’ll update when I can.

Duck hunters set up a spread about 150 yards down the river from me and were shooting volleys in my direction. I think the shotgun reports had things on edge in that finger of brush where the foodplot I was sitting on is located

Crawled down and headed back to the house to regroup and make a game plan for mid-day sit

Just going through some of the game cam pics from the cards we pulled yesterday. Saw something I've personally never seen before...a doe working a scrape. I've always heard that it happens this way, but personally I've never actually seen one work the licking branch above a scrape and urinate in it.

Seeing quite a few coyotes on camera as well, so if we see them during the week we are definitely going to try to do a little predator control!!!

Just pulled the trail card to see how nice this deer is I saw in the A.M. Hoping I didn’t make a mistake by letting him walk free ....

Jack pulled the camera card at East Chair before walking out this morning in hopes of getting some better pictures of the buck he saw early this morning. He's definitely got some body mass and looks to be a pretty good deer...and Jack is headed back there this afternoon to see if he can get on this buck again...







There was also a pretty good wide 8-point on the camera last night

Set up on a new stand that was put up this year. It’s in a pinch point between two thick areas and just off the big cut bean field.
