    Eats ideas in Austin.

So I Will be in Austin for a few days next week doing some interviews trying to fill some positions we have at our office there and I’m looking for good eats recommendations. I will be staying about a block away from the South Congress bridge on the southside this is not my first time to Austin I have been there several times however I always end up looking at reviews at restaurants for so long and end up getting frustrated And just going with something convenient and I always end up disappointed. I am not a fan of chains so if anybody has Any recommendations I am all ears things in advance

I like stiles switch Bbq... I typically get there right as they open and have never stood in line for more than more than a few minutes

South Congress eats:Vespaio is good Italian; Perlas for seafood; I frequent Home Slice too.

Polvos on S 1st is good Mexican, then walk across the street to La Mexicana for some good Mexican baked goods.

Just a few ideas, way too many to list in the South Congress/downtown area!!

Polvos for margarita pitchers and good Mexican

Shady Grove has all around good menu. Pork chop is great.

Hula Hut poo poo platter for sunset and drinks.

Taco Joint for breakfast tacos. The original was north of campus when I was at UT but I hear there’s a new one near congress. My favorite tacos.

Trudy’s and Pluckers have branched out recently, but have good grub.

La bbq for fantastic bbq without the line that franklins has.

Food trucks on Barton springs are all good.

I’m sure I’m forgetting several. Man I miss Austin.

Lonesome Dove off Colorado is awesome but expensive. Bangers off Rainey for any type of sausage and amazing beer selection. Gus' Fried Chicken off San Jacinto for the best fried chicken.

I make my way to those 3 almost every time I stay downtown.

Going to jump on the Polvos band wagon.

Definitely take an Uber if you get a couple of their Margaritas

                          Solid list here.

To add to it, Black's BBQ on Barton Springs is good. You can't go wrong with LA, Stiles Switch, or Black's.

What positions are you hiring for?

Sour Duck Market on east MLK has chocolate and pecan croissants that are outstanding, as well as breakfast offerings, and an outdoor eating area.
