Puff ader…we had one in a fishtank once…he would scare folks to death that didnt know what he was.

Definitely not a Puff Adder. Thankfully we don’t have those here. The nickname that hognose have had in Texas is “Speadin’ Adder”

First they raise up like a Cobra and when that doesn't work they rattle their tail like a Rattler and if that doesn't work they flop over on their back and spit blood all over like they just got crushed under your tire. They are dramatic little guys.

Not to mention poop/pee and cover themselves in it if all else fails. They try every trick in the book! Ive messed with a bunch of them I know! Cool little guys though.

I am just going to say do not stick one in your pocket because the school bus is coming, and then forget about it until second period. And no, the pretty girl named Robin in your second period class does not want to see it. Neither does the teacher. I know this from experience.
