Not enough info to give an informative answer. OP not answering questions either.

I'm gonna guess 3, especially if the trailer doesn't have any sides to it.

Thanks for the replies, I’ll get three and see how far that goes.

See if they’ll give you a weight per yard then only haul what your trailer is rated for weight wise.

Bags or bulk, do you have sides on your trailer snd if you do how high? Axle weight?

Heaped up maybe a bit over 6 cy but a light duty single axle trailer won’t handle that weight.
I would go with 2.5 to 3 cy which should be max legal weight.

How many yards of mulch will fit into a 14' Trailer?

Mulch is not as heavy as dirt, buts still gonna be over 1000lbs a yard because it’s normally wet. Put a couple yards in the pickup and 3 on the trailer…and tell your wife she gets to clean out your pickup bed after![emoji23]

                      I get 4 yards on my 16’ trailer. It’s a nice load

She might surprise you and back the truck up tailgate down facing the sun and blow it out after it dries.

I weigh a 15 yard + or- load of much for grins a while back and it weighed a tad under 12,000 lbs.

I fit 8 yards into mine it's 14ft long and I believe has 2ft sides on it. I've fit 10 but it's mounded up pretty good. My trailer is a tandem 14ft dump with 7k axles also

                            Edit

Just read the OP completely. Start with 3 or 4 yards if you want to pick it up. If I were you I'd pay the 75-125$ delivery fee

                                13.5 bags per yard
Square feet x depth in inches ÷ 320 = how many yards you need
