Thanks all.

No tanning of the snake skins. They're just air dried. Glue them on the roughed up limbs with TiteBond III. Let the glue cure. Trim excess skin. Remove the scales off the skin using masking tape. Then apply finish. I used Tru Oil this time. It ends up very glossy so you have to use the Tru Oil Stock Sheen & Conditioner to get it down to a satin gloss.

I've also used a spray on spar varnish with good results in the past.
