They don’t take in “smoke” really. I’ve done a bunch of pies on my traeger and they always turn out with a great crust and the slightest hint of smoke.

I use both rec tec and lumberjack pellets with great results. They burn slower so I don’t go through them near as fast and I haven’t had much waste in the bag. Often when I grabbed b&b from the store there’s quite a bit of dust in the bottom. That dust clogs up the system and chokes the box, stopping the smoker. I just try and pick a good pellet that holds together well and is dense.

My wife got me a REC TEC RT 700 for Christmas and it's the best pellet smoker I've ever used. At work we have Pitboss and Traeger and the Rec tec is just built better than those two. It holds the temperature like you wouldn't believe. Yes, it's more money but you feel good once you paid it, and that 18 wheeler shows up to deliver it.... that's right no UPS because it's too heavy. It shows up on a pallet.

Are you ordering both brands online?

What B&B pellets do you buy? Or did you buy.

I have been but there’s a guy in Conroe that bought a pallet and is selling the lumberjack for $22/40# bag

I saw a new pit boss called the lockhart. It looks pretty cool. If I didn't already have the Austin XL and the copperhead, I would buy it.
