Almost anything works. Marshmallows, corn, protein, cat food, dog food, corn, sardines, moon pies, corn. Did I mention corn?

Cat food has worked great for me. A couple on the ground around the trap and a few inside.

Corn or dry dog/cat food. No sense in getting your traps full of muck using fish or sticky stuff.

What kinda trap?

If its a steel trap I like hanging a ball of aluminum foil above it with sardines in it.

I do the same for box traps but not hanging.

Trapping coons for black folk, picking vegetables, and picking up returnable soda bottles kept me in ammo and firearms when I was a kid.

Marshmallows in the cooler months. Corn or protein(whatever is in your pen that they are there for in the first place) in all months because it doesn’t melt or get nasty.

Trash or an ice chest full of camping food. Those seem to really attract them....just kidding. I catch them in my Duke tube traps with regular old genaric brand cat food...
