Both since high school. I have gotten used to it.
There are times when it will triple in sound for about 20 seconds.
Most of the time I don’t notice it. I notice it the most when I am hunting and the woods are quiet.

24/7/365 in both ears. Learned to block it out for the most part, but it sucks. Been dealing with it for years.

Both sides all the time. A gift from Uncle Sam. It helps block out the other voices hollering in there. Lol. I'd probably miss it if it stopped.

I spent some time in a 4 deuce mortar platoon at Ft Hood. I'm sure it didn't help.

Doesnt help me. Ringing goes away for a short period right after I take out hearing aids, but comes back. Doesnt go away with hearing aid in.

                            both... for years...
btw-- it's not cause by external noise.
It's usually associated with age, or hearing loss, or injury..

I hate to hear that. My ringing goes away from the minute I put it in my ear until I take it out. Now say I forget it or just don’t put it in I can go a day maybe without ringing definitely not a cure but relief for me.

Maybe you just need a different tone programmed in to the hearing aid or the volume turned up on just the tone to drown out the ringing.

                                Tinnitus

I’ve had it since I was 21 or so. One dumb afternoon of shooting pistols and it hasn’t stopped since.

One of the worst parts is that sinus issues, stress and other random loud noises make it ramp up quickly.

I sleep with a white noise machine and even occasionally will use a white noise machine in my office during the day. As weird as it seems it helps take my mind off the ear ringing.
